Newport Council have proposed banning rough sleeping from the city centre, without providing any support or infrastructure to tackle the issue. The council have branded rough sleepers as criminals in their "consultation". Numerous organisations such as Liberty & Shelter have joined our calls for the council to throw out these proposals.

These proposals are potentially illegal and they provide no solution, they simply move the problem on to a different part of the city. Join us in calling on the council to throw out these proposals and to adopt a "No Second Night Under The Stars" strategy and provide the real support the homeless community need.
