Once again, the number of park wardens – who look after parks such as Beechwood – have been cut back. In the latest round, another two posts have gone as a result of Labour Council spending cuts.
We have to repeat again the message that cutting back on maintenance and upkeep is a false economy. The Labour Council is now in an ever decreasing circle of applying for grants to undo some of the problems they have created. Already residents have told us the latest cutbacks are having a harmful effect on our parks.
